Report: GroupM Consolidates Network Radio

  • January 18, 2010
WPP's GroupM unit is continuing its push to become more operational and consolidate media-buying functions that had been delegated to WPP's individual media services networks. In its latest move, GroupM is consolidating the network radio buying of its MediaCom, Mindshare and Mediaedge:cia units into a new entity dubbed GroupM Network Radio. According to a report in Mediaweek, the new unit will bill more than $200 million, about a fifth of the $1 billion U.S. network radio business, and will be headed by Mediaedge:cia Senior Partner-Director of Radio Kim Vasey.
