Richard G. Wolford, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Del Monte Foods, has been elected chairman of the board of directors of the Grocery Manufacturers Association.

Wolford succeeds Campbell Soup Company President and CEO Douglas R. Conant as GMA chairman. GMA board chairs serve two-year terms.

GMA has also elected four new board members: J. Alexander M. "Sandy" Douglas, Jr., president, North American Group, The Coca-Cola Company; Tom Ferriter, president and CEO, Bush Brothers & Company; Melanie Healey, group VP, North America, The Procter & Gamble Company; and Michael Mendes, president, CEO and director, Diamond Foods, Inc.
