Keep Clicking To Increase Personalization

Google has been moving away from getting people to click on results in search queries by putting more information in the results. But as Rand Fishkin points out, getting consumers to click could create huge opportunities for brands.

Fishkin points to an interesting Pontiac ad that provides a surprise at the end of the clip. The ad, produced by agency Leo Burnett Detroit and uploaded to YouTube in 2006, promotes the Pontiac G6 Sedan. Even in 2006, companies told consumers to Google their brand. Although the marketing message is four years old, Fishkin calls it "a brilliant marketing move" today.
