VideoEgg CMO Young Takes Prexxi Role

Troy Young

As part of a broader management shift, VideoEgg has promoted its chief marketing officer Troy Young as president, the "engagement" ad network said Thursday.

In his new role, Young will continue to focus on developing the VideoEgg brand advertising offering, while also working closely with CEO Matt Sanchez on corporate development.

In addition, Matt Rosenberg has been brought on as vice president of "solutions," which is another way of saying product development.

Rosenberg comes from digital creative agency Big Spaceship, where he led the client engagement group, and developed new business and formulated strategy. Previously, he founded the Los Angeles office for Omnicom agency Organic, where he led the digital media agency of record accounts of 20th Century Fox and Fox Broadcasting Company.

Meanwhile, Erin Olsson has been name vice president of marketing, where she will oversee marketing strategy and its execution across advertising, Web, sales and public relations channels. Prior to VideoEgg, Olsson led the consumer and interactive technologies practice at communications consultancy Blanc & Otus.

Founded in 2005, VideoEgg is largely credited with popularizing interactive ad overlays in online video content. The privately held company hit $24 million in revenue and claims to have reached profitability last year.

According to CEO Matt Sanchez, VideoEgg's growth is due to the "desire of brand advertisers to move beyond solely buying impressions to demanding customized ad solutions that deliver attention."

The San Francisco-based company is backed by August Capital, First Round Capital, Maveron, WPP and Focus Ventures.
