P&G Opening Mr. Clean Car Washes In Texas

  • February 28, 2010
Procter & Gamble is looking for franchisees in the Houston and Dallas-Ft. Worth markets. Mr. Clean Car Wash, operated by P&G subsidiary Agile Pursuits Franchising Inc., seeks to open 20-25 franchised car wash locations in the Texas markets.

The company is also hoping to open stores in Chicago. P&G launched car wash services in its home market, Cincinnati, in 2007, that Agile Pursuits then expanded via an acquisition and rebranding of a car wash franchise business in Atlanta.

The company says Mr. Clean Car Wash now is the largest full-service U.S. Car Wash franchise, with 15 operations in Ohio and Atlanta; another six facilities are under development. A new facility is now under construction in Round Rock, Texas, and is slated to open by early April.

The company says most locations will include oil change and vehicle maintenance. The car wash industry represents more than $20 billion in annual U.S. sales, per the company, and that consumers are increasingly using professional services to clean their cars.--Karl Greenberg
