Cotton Inc., Gap Sponsor Denim Recycling

  • March 5, 2010
Cotton Inc. and Gap have launched their latest "Cotton: From Blue to Green" recycling program, an annual two-week event that turns cast-off jeans into housing insulation, which it donates to such organizations as Habitat for Humanity.

Consumers who donate their denim through the Gap's program, called "Recycle your Blues," will receive a 30% discount off new denim purchases, including 1969 Premium Jeans. Since its launch in 2006, the program has collected enough denim to create natural cotton fiber insulation for over 540 homes.

Other partners of the program include American Eagle Outfitters, Bloomingdales, and National Jean Company.--Sarah Mahoney
