Each spot features the golfers surprising average golfers in unexpected locations, then encouraging them to switch to one of Ping's new clubs, called G15 and i15. The end of each spot shows the struggling golfer and the pro teaming up as the voiceover delivers the message, "Take it from Hunter Mahan and this guy, it's time to switch."
The campaign will launch during NBC's telecast of the Honda Classic and will run simultaneously on The Golf Channel.
The effort, via The Martin Agency, includes online webisodes featuring "Ping Man," a testing robot created in
the 1960s by Ping founder Karsten Solheim. In the webisodes Ping Man, after decades of silence, finally gets a voice as he answers fan mail with the help of John K. Solheim, VP of Engineering and
Karsten Solheim's grandson. --Karl Greenberg
