3 PBS Shows Outpace Cable Rivals

PBS prime-time shows "Antiques Roadshow," "Masterpiece" and "Nova" posted stellar first-quarter ratings propelled by double-digit increases in audience numbers over the same period last year. For the Sponsorship Group for Public Television, the leading sales organization for PBS programming, these three shows were up in desirable demos, significantly outperforming key competitive cable rivals. "Antiques Roadshow" had a total audience growth of 18%, an increase of 17% in adults 35-64 and 7% in adults 25-54.2 Total audience grew 31% for "Masterpiece," and "Nova" grew 17% in total audience.

    Would be helpful to see actual audience numbers for the PBS shows and the cable competitors.
