Ford sees success in its One Ford plan to have cars that can be sold anywhere in the world in the early Facebook buzz for the forthcoming redesigned Focus. The Dearborn, Mich., automaker says fans of
its Focus Facebook site at Facebook.com/fordfocus has gone from 998 fans to more than 16,000, most coming from outside the U.S..The company says only 25% are domestic, and the largest concentration of
fans -- over 500 -- are from Istanbul.
The company says that since January, the Focus Facebook fan page has added an average of over 400 new members each week.
Production of the
highly anticipated new Focus begins in less than six months in Saarlouis, Germany, and in Wayne, Mich. In 2012, Focus production will commence in Chongqing, China, in a new factory currently being
