Fox Ups Earley To President, Marketing/Communications

Joe Earley

Fox's Joe Earley has improved his position. He's now president of marketing and communications for Fox Broadcasting Co.

Earley led Fox to some big successes recently, particularly in launching one of the biggest new hits of last season, "Glee," and helping the network, for the first time, win the fall part of the season.

"His groundbreaking campaign for 'Glee' demonstrates Joe's formidable combination of strategic, creative and leadership skills. We are all thrilled he will be here with us at Fox for many more years," stated Peter Rice, chairman of entertainment for the Fox Networks Group.

Earley had been executive vice president of marketing and communications for Fox, with responsibilities for all its network shows, including "Fringe," "House," "Bones," "Lie to Me," "The Simpsons," "Family Guy," "So You Think You Can Dance" and "American Idol."

More than his rivals at other networks, Earley and his team have made major efforts around digital billboards in capturing key tune-in viewership. In addition, Fox has done on-air and online "tweet-peats," a summer-long "Caduceus" teaser campaign to promote the sixth season of "House and the year-long "Simpsons" 20th Anniversary event.
