NetZero Buys Juno

Internet service provider NetZero Inc. has completed the purchase of rival Juno Online Services Inc., creating a new company called United Online. The company reiterated that it will take a restructuring charge of $20 million to $25 million as a result of the merger. NetZero agreed to buy Juno in a stock deal valued at $70 million when it was struck in June. In a statement, United Online said the merger creates several opportunities to cut cost and create a more efficient operation, leaving the door to job cuts. However, the company declined to comment on any pending layoffs.
