Mercedes-Benz, which for the next four years is Official Vehicle of the U.S. Open, says it is greening the game with hybrids and hydrogen fuel-cell fleet vehicles at the Flushing, Queens tournament.
The Montvale, N.J., automaker says 60% of the fleet used for player and VIP transportation during the 2010 US Open tournament are alternative-powertrain vehicles.
The company has 75 hybrids and
its F-Cell hydrogen fuel vehicles on hand. The U.S. Tennis Association is also planning a green-message PSA featuring Alec Baldwin.
