Pup-Peroni dog treats held a "Wags, Not Words" promotional event Oct. 14 in Encino, Calif.

Celebrities Mischa Barton, Kym Johnson from "Dancing with the Stars" and a few of the cast members from "The Real Housewives of Orange County" were there with their dogs to speak to non-verbal expert Patti Wood about body language cues between themselves and their pets.

The campaign included a survey of pet parents and their perception of non-verbal communication with their dogs, and a satellite media tour with Wood. The event was set up like a fake therapist's office, and consumers were able to bring their dogs with them as well and meet with Wood.

According to the Pup-Peroni survey, when it comes to communicating with their pooches, nearly 75% of pet parents say their dog's body language lets them know how their pet is feeling.--Tanya Irwin
