Dorel Industries Recreation and Leisure division, makers of Schwinn, Cannondale and other high-end cycling equipment and apparel, has named Colle+McVoy -- which is not coincidentally based in Minneapolis, recently selected by Bicycling magazine as the no. 1 cycling city in the country -- as its advertising agency of record.
In addition to Schwinn and Cannondale, the GT, Mongoose, IronHorse and SUGOi brands are also in the Dorel stable. Andrew Coccari, CMO global marketing, Dorel Recreational/Leisure Segment, pointed to Colle+McVoy's work with Bikes Belong, a national coalition of bicycling retailers and suppliers that aims to inform the public about cycling issues, and passion for cycling as key factors in the selection. "Their appreciation for the dynamics and pace of this industry is unparalleled," he said.
"Enthusiast lifestyles are a core focus and expertise of ours. It's an honor to partner with Dorel Recreational/Leisure to advance the growth of its iconic brand portfolio," said Christine Fruechte, president and CEO, Colle+McVoy.
The win is the latest in a string of new business for Colle+McVoy, which in the last year has won new business from Old Navy, Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort, Medtronic Foundation, Explore Minnesota Tourism, Regis Corporation, General Mills, Land O'Lakes and Nestlé Purina, with many of the accounts coming over in the last few months.
