Powers, who had been president of the media group of Time Inc., the consumer magazine division of Time Warner, will serve as senior vice president of North American ad sales at Yahoo. He reports to Ross Levinsohn, executive vice president-Americas at Yahoo.
During his tenure at Time Inc., Powers launched the Time Inc. Digital Network, and developed integrated digital and analog sales across all of the magazines' online and offline properties.
Before that served as president of Media Networks Inc. and Targeted Media at Time Inc., where he also helped launch products across print, Internet and mobile platforms, and developed one of the first integrated sales teams within Time Inc.
