A new campaign pushing the glitzy new TV technologies is being targeted to consumers -- courtesy of the National Association of Broadcasters -- with a secondary emphasis touting free over-the-air television.

The Web site theFutureOfTV.org, launched Tuesday, will supplement an existing industry-wide on-air campaign.

Last month, the NAB announced a new on-air campaign promoting the future of broadcast TV -- which included a 30-second TV and radio ad. Those ads began airing on Tuesday, scheduled to run through Jan. 24.

The copy of those electronic ads reads: "What's the future of broadcast TV? It's HD, 3D, mobile TV -- technology, not regulation from Washington, D.C."

The new site will not only talk up new HD, digital and multicasting TV technologies, but will also allow consumers to share their viewpoints -- especially when it comes to free and local broadcast television. Visitors to the site can sign up for updates on the legislative and regulatory issues that impact broadcast TV's future.
