General Motors Shows Three Pea Pods At CES

  • January 7, 2011
General Motors unveiled its EN-V concept for the first time in North American at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. The pod-shaped electric concept vehicle was a six-month attraction at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.

The EN-V (Electric Networked Vehicle), the automaker's take on urban personal mobility, comes in three designs: Jiao (Pride), Miao (Magic) and Xiao (Laugh).

The automaker showed how the EN-V can do things by itself, such as park and return to the user when summoned from a smartphone application.

The vehicle seats two, looks not even remotely like a car, and is about half the length of a Smart ForTwo. GM says six EN-Vs can fit into a standard American parking space. General Motors says it will display the vehicles at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit and make selected appearances around the United States.
