'Glee' Nailed: Sephora Goes Gleek Chic

Glee-Sephora

Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products has nailed "Glee." It has teamed with Sephora Americas to develop an exclusive collection of nail colors and prints for the hit TV show -- the "Sephora by OPI goes Gleek Chic."

The latest consumer product associated with Fox hit "Glee" will be a line of nail products. Under a "Gleek Chic" banner, the products will be offered by retailer Sephora and get a marketing boost during a coming episode.

The deal was crafted by the licensing arm linked with "Glee" producers Twentieth Century Fox Television. It includes 10 nail color shades, to be marketed as part of a "Sephora by OPI goes Gleek Chic" collection. As "Glee's" brand extends off-network and off-air, the line will be sold only at the 270-plus Sephora locations in the U.S. and Canada.

The Feb. 3 debut is timed to capitalize on expected excitement surrounding a "Glee" episode following the Super Bowl. On Feb. 8, the nail polish will be integrated into a "Valentine's Day"-themed "Glee," where five characters will display it.

Also backing the launch will be a national magazine campaign and email/online program, as well as in-store displays. On Feb. 12, a Los Angeles store will host an event with a series star and the show's lead make-up artist.

"The Sephora collection takes the essential elements of the "Glee" brand and incorporates them into the ultimate means of self-expression for fans of the show," stated Robert Marick, executive vice president of Fox Consumer Products. "This merchandising program continues our pursuit to bring Gleeks the very best products that will allow them to celebrate and live 'Glee' in every aspect of their lives."
