Yule Log To Burn Without Commercials

  • December 10, 2002
The Yule Log, one of New York's most loved holiday traditions, will be seen Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25) from 9 am to 11 am on WPIX Channel 11 (The WB11). The Yule Log, the Tribune Television Station's video Christmas card to New York, which returned to television last year ending a 12-year hiatus, highlights a day of special holiday programming which includes the original 1934 Laurel & Hardy version of "March of the Wooden Solders" (11 am to 1 pm), and the classic 1951 film of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" starring Alistair Sim as Ebenezer Scrooge (1 pm to 3 pm). Thanks to sponsors Jeep, Macy's, and New York's Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA), the entire, 2-hour WPIX broadcast of The Yule Log will be seen without commercial interruption. The Yule Log may also be enjoyed on the web at www.wb11.com, where it is available now and will continue to be shown throughout the 2002 holiday season.
