Jeep CEO: Whole Lineup To Get Upgraded

  • January 12, 2011
Jeep Brand President/CEO Mike Manley said at the Detroit auto show this week that Jeep will be revamped. The Patriot will be updated and refreshed; the Wrangler, with sales up 26% year-over-year, will get "significant upgrades and improvements," he said. The Compass got a lot of flak for not being really a Jeep, but Manley promises the 2011 version is different.

"It's genetically engineered with what the best of its siblings bring to the table but with a size and attitude all of its own," he said. It will also come with a "Freedom Drive II Off-Road Package."

The bigger news here is that Jeep is bringing back a venerable old brand. The Wagoneer will re-debut in 2013. (URL removed by MediaPost)
