Philadelphia Tourism Hosts Contest

Philadelphia Tourism is hosting a contest for fans and budding copywriters.

Philadelphia's "With Love, Philadelphia XOXO" campaign has prompted consumers to send in their own "love" lines, so the organization decided to make it a contest with the winning slogan used as a billboard.

Contestants can submit their love letters (up to 82 characters) at www.visitphilly.com/contest. Within 24 hours, they will receive a return email stating whether the submission was approved, and at that point the contestant can post it to Facebook and Twitter to show off the creation. The contest runs through Feb. 4.

The tourism agency is using both traditional and social media to get the word out about the contest. Starting Jan. 12, billboards on I-95 in Philadelphia, Route 30 in New Jersey and on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Harrisburg will tout the contest. Info on the contest has also been posted on the group's Web site at www.Facebook.com/VisitPhilly. --Tanya Irwin
