Ducati North America says motorcycle sales are on a roll. According to a company statement, year-over-year December sales were up 35%.

Overall Q4 sales were up 9%. The company posted an 8% improvement in the third quarter. The Italy-based motorcycle maker said it reached record market share in North America. Sales of Ducati parts rose 7% last year and sales of accessories rose 5%. The company sold 24% more branded apparel last year than in 2009.

Motorcycles from Ducati were in "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps", "Knight & Day" and "Tron Legacy." Grass roots efforts included Ducati Islands exhibits center track at three international road races in the United States
