Darden Testing Red Lobster/Olive Garden Combo

Starting in March, Darden Restaurants will be testing a facility housing both a Red Lobster and Olive Garden restaurant.

The combo test format, located in Palm Coast, Fla., will have separate entrances to the two restaurants and their usual individual menus, and customers will not be allowed to sit in one and order from the other, reports the Jacksonville Business Journal. 

The concept was developed to help the company expand into smaller markets that would not meet its population density requirements for building a single-brand restaurant, Darden told the Journal.
