Federated Media, the network of blogs and vertical content sites founded by John Battelle has named Deanna Brown CEO, as part of a plan transitioning Battelle out of a day-to-day role. Battelle
becomes executive chairman and chief strategy officer from chairman. Brown, who joined Federated in September 2009 as president and COO from president of Scripps Networks Digital, is a long-time
manager of digital publishing enterprises.
