ABC, its affiliates and ABC parent Walt Disney Co. will soon debut a new round of PSAs and programs that focus on the importance of community. “ABC: A Better Community” will feature network and local
PSAs, a half-hour special on innovative teaching styles, community outreach projects conducted by affiliate stations and a portion of the ABC.com Website. The PSA campaign, branded with the new ABC
look, will feature ABC stars with a social call to action. Each PSA will encourage viewers to call a toll-free number or browse the Web address of a local agency that can help them address the issue
being discussed. Local affiliates can customize the spots to highlight local agencies that viewers can contact for help. “This innovative, exceptional collaboration allows Disney, ABC and its
affiliates to use their expertise, reach and talents to bring a new spirit of creativity in their public service responsibilities,” said Disney President/COO Robert A. Iger. The half-hour special will
profile three innovative schools and be broadcast on affiliate stations.
