The U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission are looking at whether Apple's media subscription service violates antitrust laws. The company on Feb. 15 announced it would start a
subscription service for publishers to sell newspapers and magazines on Apple's iPad through the App Store. The model has Apple taking a 30% cut on subscriptions people buy through the App Store.
Google unveiled a rival service the next day saying it would only keep 10% of subscriber fees.
