CNBC said March produced a record in unique users for its Web site, with an 83% increase over the same month last year. Data from comScore Media Metrix showed the site had 7.8 million unique users.  

There were also 381 million page views, a 64% bump over the month in 2010.

CNBC also said its mobile offering produced monthly records with 2 million unique users and 76 million page views in March, according to Omniture. The news provider's iPhone app also reached a high with unique users up 45%.

Furthermore, CNBC said visits to its Web site topped competitors in share of total time spent, and usage of the site accounts for 16% of all the time spent on business/finance sites in that particular category.
