Originally expected earlier this year, Travelweb.com has finally gone live. Major hotel companies on Wednesday launched the hotel reservation website, "aiming to wean Internet shoppers from market
leaders Expedia and Hotels.com," Reuters reported. Hilton Hotels, Marriott International, Starwood Hotels, Intercontinental Hotels Group and Hyatt have teamed up to vie for consumers who shop around
for the lowest prices. Site officials say Travelweb.com will start advertising at the end of summer.
