Wii Successor Coming Next Year

  • April 25, 2011
Confirming the rumors that had been circulating for weeks, Nintendo will release its successor to the highly popular Wii gaming system next year.

According to Kotaku, the new system, which has been going by the code name, Project Cafe, offer a controller that will use the traditional controller input (like those for PlayStation and xBox360), as well as a touch screen input and some Wii-style motion sensing controllers

Further details will be introduced during the E3 gaming expo in Los Angeles in Early June. The 2012 launch will pre-date console updates from Sony and Microsoft by about two years, according to Kotaku. -- Aaron Baar
