Ashton Kutcher Joins 'Two and a Half Men'

As Ashton Kutcher gets set to take over for Charlie Sheen on CBS' "Two and a Half Men," Sheen characteristically did not go quietly. He suggested to TMZ that ratings would tank and wished the studio Warner Bros. luck with some bite.

"Enjoy the show, America. Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB," Sheen said, apparently referring to the 18-to-49 viewer segment.

CBS and Warner Bros. made it official Friday that Kutcher, who rose to prominence on Fox's "That 70's Show" for eight seasons, would replace Sheen, allowing CBS to keep a huge hit on the air. Co-stars Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones remain for the ninth season.

Kutcher stated: "I can't replace Charlie Sheen, but I'm going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!"

Kutcher has produced MTV's "Punk'd" and CW's "Beauty and the Geek."

I'm not exactly sure who is doing casting for the show, but unless they are drastically changing the show's format, I believe they're in for a ratings surprise. In everything I have seen Mr. Kutcher in, it's merely him in a designated role, given a different name, saying a writer's words and all while remaining with his same "trying to be funny" portrayal. The only thing worse, is when someone casts him in a serious role!
