KBB.com Redesigns Site

  • May 24, 2011
Kelley Blue Book has redesigned its main consumer-facing Web site and is adding new tools for its new and used-car shopping and research platform: Reality Check, Total Cost of Ownership are two examples. The redesign includes visual representations using charts and graphs to illustrate ownership considerations and financial parameters that change over time, like cost of ownership.

The company says the changes reflect research that shows consumers are looking for pricing and values based on the goal they are trying to achieve, rather than just the standard vehicle paths of "new" or "used."

The Reality Check features shows "fair" purchase price based on transaction prices from franchise dealers across the country. Total Cost of Ownership breaks down cost for an initial five-year period with visual representations of such factors as depreciation costs, fuel costs, and insurance costs.
