Nielsen Co. Thursday officially announced the acquisition of 100% of NeuroFocus, a San Francisco-based neuromarketing research firm that it acquired a 30% stake in 2008 (
MediaDailyNews May 20).
Terms were not disclosed, but Nielsen said NeuroFocus would continue to be led by Founder-CEO A.K. Pradeep and would become part of Nielsen's Product Innovation Practice. Nielsen's acquistion was
triggered by an offered late last year from WPP Group to acquire NeuroFocus. WPP declined to comment on that offer.
