A new documentary on the Discovery Times Channel is looking at the chaos in postwar Iraq, the political divisions in the country and the ongoing shortages of water, electricity and basic services. The
documentary, After Saddam, premieres from 7-8 p.m. Sunday, July 27. From a massive Shiite rally and a newly uncovered mass gravesite to a closed-door session of political leaders intent on forming a
new democratic government, After Saddam takes viewers to scenes not shown on the evening news. The film also traces American-backed leader Ahmad Chalabi's challenging return from exile to create a
post-war government and his failure to gain political traction in the first months after Saddam's fall, despite the high hopes that the U.S. government had for him. Another documentary, Raising the
Flag, will premiere July 29. It looks at American military conquests and postwar occupations in recent history.
