Surfer Magazine will be featuring artwork and photography from its seventh annual "what is surfing now?" issue at The Surf Gallery in Laguna Beach, Calif., on Saturday July 26. The event, open to the
general public, is scheduled to include appearances by cover subject Dan Malloy as well as surfers Donavon Frankenreiter and Jason Murray. "Surfer Magazine has a long history of ties to artists and
their work, from seminal '60s cartoonist Rick Griffin to the magazine's founder John Severson," said Surfer Magazine art director Jeff Canham in a press release. "This show is an extension of that
important tradition." Among the so-called "surfer artists" whose work will be showcased at the event are Wolfgang Bloch, Randy Noborikawa and Raymond Pettibon. The 2003 "what is surfing now?" issue
boasts 268 pages.
