Matthew Rubel, chairman and CEO of Collective Brands, which owns Payless Shoes and Stride Rite and Reds brands, has resigned, effective immediately, to pursue "a new chapter" in his career. The
company's wholesale operations and international sales have been strong, but the company's domestic business is stagnant.
