One of the hottest things in cable is coming to broadcast through a partnership between a production company and NBC. Beginning next month, a new series called
Trading Spaces: Boys vs. Girls
will debut on Discovery Kids on NBC. The show will begin May 17 and air 11-11:30 a.m. every week as well as appearing on the Discovery Kids Channel on Mondays and Fridays from 7-7:30 p.m. and 10-10:30
p.m. beginning May 19. Each episode of
Trading Spaces: Boys vs. Girls, features one boy and one girl each with a friend, brother, sister, cousin, to create the ultimate new room for their
friend. The kids - 8 to 13 years old - have 48 hours to use their creativity and tap into skills they may never have known they had. Two designers, Scott Sicari and Jordin Ruderman, help the kids
translate their friends' innermost dreams into décor and two carpenters, Ginene Licata and Barte Shadlow, show kids how to hammer, nail and safely use power tools. It's all done without any input
from parents. Trading Spaces: Boys vs. Girls is produced by Banyan Productions, which also oversees production of TLC's Trading Spaces.
