Keeping with its current low-cost acquisition of library TV and movie products, Netflix has renewed its film and TV content deal with NBC Universal on a non-exclusive basis.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed -- only that it was on a multi-year renewal.
Programming includes previous seasons of NBC Universal-produced series "The Office," "30 Rock" and "Parenthood." Future seasons of these shows will be available on Netflix on a one-season delay basis. In addition, Netflix members can access prior-season episodes of "Law and Order: SVU" and "The Event."
Frances Manfredi, executive vice president and general sales manager of NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution, stated: "We are very pleased that Netflix recognizes the increasing value of NBCUniversal's extensive content offerings for their subscribers."

All this comes one day after Netflix announced that for some subscribers, it will effectively raise prices 60% for its monthly service, which includes mailings of DVDs and video streaming of movies and TV. Netflix says rising structural costs were the reason for the pricing move.
Ted Sarandos, Netflix chief content officer, said the renewal of the deal includes more episodes of more shows from more NBCU-owned channels than ever before.
Netflix's growing video streaming TV and movie content -- still limited in comparison to its larger library of DVD mailings -- will include shows from NBC Universal cable networks, prior-season episodes of Syfy's "Warehouse 13," USA Network's "Psych," and E!'s "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and "Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane."
Theatrical movies from Universal Pictures include as "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and "The Motorcycle Diaries."
