Dish stated that it will continue to operate "more than 1,500 U.S. Blockbuster stores," but added that "despite our efforts to reach reasonable terms, some property owners have closed stores," reports
CNET. Dish paid $320 million for Blockbuster in April, as part of a bankruptcy auction. Dish wouldn't say exactly how many stores would close but it could be as many as 200. Blockbuster's assets
included 1,700 stores at the time of the auction. Netflix is often cited as a reason for Blockbuster's decline, CNET noted.
