NBCU Shakes Up Digital, Schneider To Head Biz Affairs

Jeffrey-Schneider

NBC Universal named Jeffrey Schneider to the newly created position of executive vice president, business affairs, Entertainment & Digital Networks and Integrated Media.

Reporting to Salil Mehta, NBCUniversal COO and CFO of E&DN/IM, Schneider will now oversee all aspects of business affairs -- including talent and production negotiations, program acquisitions and new business deals -- for the portfolio. It includes iVillage, DailyCandy, Swirl, and Fandango, along with Telemundo, Bravo Media, mun2, Oxygen Media and Style.

"Jeff is the consummate deal maker," Mehta said of Schneider, adding that he "instantly [brings an] extensive set of relationships."

Since 2007, Schneider served as the senior vice president, business affairs and deputy general counsel for Lifetime Television Networks. Still taking shape under Comcast's umbrella, NBC Universal has recently undergone a number of executive changes.

In March, Nicholas Lehman was named president of digital of E&DN/IM, where he is now overseeing the pure-play digital businesses within the division's portfolio, including iVillage, DailyCandy, Swirl and Fandango. Lehman is also working closely with the leaders of each of the TV network's online platforms, including the sites for Telemundo, Bravo Media, Oxygen Media, Style and mun2.

More recently, NBCU promoted both Cameron Blanchard and Tony Cardinale to the position of executive vice president of NBCUniversal Entertainment & Digital Networks and Integrated Media. In addition, Margaret Lazo was appointed executive vice president for the new division.

At Lifetime, Schneider oversaw business affairs and entertainment-related legal policy for the network's programming, including digital products and marketing initiatives, scripted and reality series, and made-for-television movies.
