A recent study conducted by comScore and the Online Publishers Association shows that the personals/match-making category grew 387% becoming the largest online paid content category amongst consumers in the 3rd quarter in 2002 representing approximately 25% of every dollar spent on consumer online content. Is there enough room for another competitor? DigitalDate hopes so. The new online dating service from DigitalRooster and Avrada Inc., hopes to offer singles the opportunity to conduct detailed searches to find potential mates, view photos of singles in a certain area and create a profile for free allowing users the ability to meet quality people in a safe and anonymous environment. Company officials say dating is a natural extension of the services currently offered by both companies as it caters to the same demographics.
