The Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer says it will now cash most types of pre-printed checks up to $5,000, accept more forms of ID, and open Express Check Cashing checkout lanes at selected stores during busy times.
Until now, its cashed payroll, government and tax refund checks; the new services cover rebates, student loans, pension, insurance, expense, retirement, 401(k) and IRA checks, as well as MoneyGrams. (The retailer charges $3 per check under $1,000, and $6 for those up to $5,000.)
