Starbucks Draws Most Check-ins On Facebook

Starbucks is the restaurant that Facebook Places users check into most, according to a report from Facebook.

Although a large number of locations (Starbucks has about 17,000 globally) likely helps, Mashable points out that Buffalo Wild Wings, with just 700 locations, came up second in the rankings, beating McDonald's (with about 32,000 units globally).

In fact, Chili's (#3) and Applebee's (#4) also bested McDonald's, in fifth place.

The restaurants in sixth through tenth place, in order, are: IHOP, Denny's, Olive Garden, T.G.I. Friday's, and The Cheesecake Factory.

The stats also show that when people check in on Places, the competitor to Foursquare launched by Facebook a year ago, they let an average of 130 of their friends know -- free PR for a chain.

Facebook did not provide the numbers of check-ins for the individual chains.
