Media account turnover, which has been ebbing throughout 2003, posted another modest month in October, according to an ongoing tracking report, released Monday by MediaAnalysisPlus. Only $230 million
in media account billings changed agencies in October, down from $318 million in September 2003 and down from $426 million in October 2002. Through the first 10 months of 2003, advertisers have
shifted a total of $4.93 billion in media assignments, down from $7.99 billion during the same period in 2002. MAP CEO Jim Surmanek noted that several major media account reviews are currently in the
pipeline, including the massive Coca-Cola Co. assignment, as well as Masterfoods.
