Emmy Awards Search, Social Stats

Performics released a study Friday dubbed the Primetime Emmy Online Comedy Index that tracks the nominees getting the most online buzz leading up to Sunday's Emmy Awards. The index compares search and social buzz for all nominees in three top comedy categories.

NBC's "The Office" took the lead for Outstanding Comedy Series in search and social, followed by Glee. Alec Baldwin leads search and social chatter for the Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series, while NBC stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler vie for the top spot. For the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series: Poehler leads in searches, and Fey leading in tweets.

Performics tracked and indexed online search and social chatter using data from Google Insights for Search and Topsy Labs beginning July 14, 2011, the day nominations were announced. The team monitored daily data for two months.
