Letterman's Return Nets Ratings

After a month long absence due to illness, David Letterman returned to The Late Show with the program's second highest ratings of the season and its second victory over The Tonight Show this season. The Late Show delivered a 5.3/13 in 55 Nielsen metered markets, second only to 6.3/15 the show earned Feb. 17 with guest Dr. Phil. It was more than a rating point higher than the program's Monday season average (4.1/10) and 43% higher than the show's Monday-Friday average of 3.7/9 this season.
