Scotts Gets 'Small'

Scotts is launching a new national advertising campaign for its Ortho brand that introduces its first ever spokesperson, actor John Schneider (WB's "Smallville"), and promotes three products that control for weed and pest problems. Three new commercials comprise the first new Ortho television campaign since 1998. The spots position the Ortho brand as the "right solution" for weed and pest problems that consumers encounter in and around their homes, lawns and gardens. The ads also introduce the new tagline, "Ortho: Always the Right Solution(TM)." In Scotts' consumer research, respondents reacted positively to Schneider, commenting he is approachable, trustworthy and warm.
