Walmart Foundation Taps Gates Exec

Walmart named Sylvia Mathews Burwell president of its Walmart Foundation, replacing the retiring Margaret McKenna, who has been in that role since 2007. 

Burwell, who was once deputy chief of staff to President Bill Clinton, is currently president of global development at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Last year, Walmart says, it gave some $799 million in cash and in-kind gifts globally.
