Sony Buys Out Ericsson

Sony Corp is going to take over its mobile phone joint venture with Ericsson for $1.5 billion, reports Reuters. It wants to use mobile to integrate its music and video properties, helping it compete with Apple. Speaking at a news conference, chairman Sir Howard Stringer said: "We can more rapidly and more widely offer consumers smartphones, laptops, tablets and televisions that seamlessly connect with one another and open up new worlds of online entertainment."
