Sears, Kmart Add QR Toys For Mobile Effort

  • November 3, 2011

In an effort to catch busy holiday shoppers on the fly, Sears Holdings says it is introducing mobile shopping walls in high-traffic areas, featuring top toys from its Sears and Kmart stores. “These virtual shopping destinations allow customers to use QR codes to identify product information, imagery and pricing to make purchases from airports, malls, movie theaters and bus shelters around the country,” the Hoffman Estates, Ill.-based company says in its release.

The Sears Toy Shop mobile walls are available in select malls across the country, while the Kmart Fab 15 walls will also be accessible in movie theater lobbies in such major markets as Boston and Los Angeles. Walls are also available in airports in Chicago, Dallas, Denver and Puerto Rico, and at bus shelters nationwide.
