TargetSpot, which operates a large digital audio advertising network, has signed three new distribution partners. The new partners -- Musicovery, Digitally Imported, and Aupeo -- are all in the pure-play online audio marketplace.

Musicovery offers digital music programming based on listener moods, registered via a whimsical online interface, which invites the user to paint colored pixels along several axes between moods like “energetic,” “calm,” “dark,” and “positive.”

The platform’s other station options include listening by artists, themes, music for dancing, and the various covers of a song. Listeners can download the Musicovery widget and also share their favorite songs via Twitter, Facebook, and their personal blogs.

Digitally Imported is a multichannel Internet Radio service focused on electronic and dance music genres, with over 40 stations reaching 2 million listeners per month. The various stations, formatted by electronic and dance genres, include streaming audio advertising, although there is also a premium subscription option which allows commercial-free listening.

Display ads also appear in the DI player. Aupeo creates personalized audio streams for a range of Internet-enabled devices, including WiFi radios and connected TVs. Listeners can compile their own music programs and receive listening recommendations based on an algorithm from the Fraunhofer Institute, which invented the MP3 format. Like DI, there is also a premium subscription option which allows commercial-free listening and unlimited song skipping.

Also this week, CBS Radio announced that Last.fm will launch an app for Spotify which helps listeners decide what music to play next. The music choice app, which will recommend new artists, albums and tracks, can be accessed by Spotify users through a new Spotify App Finder.
